1337 keep in mind the reactor, the eagle IS a TINY TINY TINY bit more maneuverable than the sabre, but the sabre has it outmatched, it has more reactor power, which, even for less accurate players means they can keep you under a hail of hard rain for a longer amount of time, to use all the guns a sabre would continuosly a eagle would have to fire in short bursts. Btw, I still like the sabre much better, the titan turns like a pig on valiuum and has a little more armor, but looks like scheist and has no forward firing turret. Hardpoints are also a necessary evil in freelancer, a sabres weapons can all fire directly forward, while a titans cant. Eagle is a good ship, but the better weapons you get, the more you will crave for a better fighter, in which case the Sabre. It walks the fine line of maneuverability, energy, and power, and maintains its stylish looks. Definitly a favorite of mine

your aswell welcome, name the server

btw just a few notes, first the turret of the eagle will fire in dogfight against an enemy that is nearly out of the screen aswell ... which means more or less that most time the turret of the eagle WILL FIRE. if he stop firing your in such a good shooting position that your enemy is in less than 2 seconds dead anyway ...
next point, energy ... ever heard of nomad guns
highest dmg output per second in game, and not energy use, but 2 of them in your ship and you NEVER will run out of weapon energy.
personaly I use 4 blaster, so guess what, constant fire from my ealge
not that more than a short burst of 3 second fireing would not be enough to screw you anyway

comont, when u have 4 nomad blasters/cannons and 2 del cids...power has no impact on anything. besides, eagles are easier to get

dont you guys want more damage from your weapons? I used 2 nomad cannons, 2 Blue Blaze and 2 Skyblast B's and blew my friend in a titan away in about 3 seconds, he bought a eagle and i still was able to wipe the floor with him, so, in other words, maybe you are right, maybe energy, hardpoints, and weapons dont matter, all it comes down to is the skill of the pilot, albeit i still prefer the sabre much over the eagle, IMO, it has better looks, bigger reactor, has more armor and can hold more nanos and batteries. We all have favorite ships, in my case its the Sabre, and, one more thing i dont like about the eagle, im just not down with the bland color of civilian fighters, that beige/dark beige mix just makes me wanna puke, i cant stand seeing on, albeit grey and dark grey are pretty generic aswell, at least their easier on the eyes (for me). And, dont get fighting NPCs confused with fighting real players, just because you have more maneuverability doesnt give you a instant win. Players are much harder to fight, and even with your weapons, your fire-to-hit ratio will be a lot smaller with another pilot at the helm

Plus the damage from weapons wont be as strong as it will against a NPC ship, not to mention bats and nanos, and if your dogfighting a good pilot, you get behind, hes gonna spin around and dust you so fast you wont even see it coming (with his higher damage weapons and all). and by the way, Nomad Blasters are not as good as nomad cannons, and altogether dont do as much damage as a more varitable combination of weapons. ok, im out, tired of this, but im also tired of people going around saying that their one favorite ship is the best, yet none realize that you can be flying a battleship and a guy in a cavalier will be able to take you down if he has a more acute reflex and reaction time then you. Its all about the pilot, a ship is just a tool to administer your skills with. Sort of like a doctor and a butcher knife

That Sabre has better powerrate doesn't mean a thing, since most players have a nomad gun or 2 =)

I have 4 nomad Cannons and 2 Tizano del Cid (or whatever) that eat shield for breakfast. That extra hull you carry on Titan is just a shot out of many, since Eagle can stay on Titan's 6 almost all the time.

Just name the server Comont54
the sabre vs eagle argument is like the phoenix vs shroud in starlancer, and YOU STAND NO CHANCE with a sabre like you stand no chance in a phoenix.

Once you have an Eagle or a Sabre or a Titan, the skill of the pilot becomes more of a factor than the ship specs imo....

I just bought a eagle, yeah, its a good ship, not as good as sabre, but still a good ship, i switched back after about 5-6 hours with it cuz i couldnt stand the color. Dueled some people, I actually found out it is a pretty good ship, albet i still prefer sabre much more, anyway, i figured something out, since people who fly eagles love to be behind people (questionable....no? ) theres high damage mines, and a backward firing turret on the sabre, plus, if the pilot knows what hes doing, he'll kill engines, swivel around and blow you away. Like i said, its all dependant on skills once you got the equipment and ship, because, well, if i was to get a friend to buy a eagle and dueled him, i would be i think quite hard to hit, after getting in some practice on backwards fire and retaliation techniques plus evasive maneuvers not even a eagle can catch up to you.
