Is it possible LAN/MP,2 players 1 account?

I was wondering if the cd-key was only for internet play, or if I can play with someone else on my LAN. I haven't had the chance to try it yet, so I'm just asking in case somebody tried. thanks.

The M/P Key that is generated stores your character data on the Server. If another person was to use that same Key, they would see your Info. And I doubt it will allow the same key to log in twice at the same time.

Besides any of that, there should be no need to use the same key.

If you install the game, same CD even, on a different computer, it will generate a new MP key. It's not an Anti-piracy measure like a CD-Key is, it's a MP identifier (Which BTW, is best if you don't spread it, anyone with your MP Key can access your accounts on other servers, no password needed) Err, I think. Don't quote me on that though. ^_^

Which is Illegal.

I thought it was a cd-key like most games, but it's not microsoft's style..
I just want to play some MP with my brother(LAN). I don't think it's THAT illegal, although I admit that by doing that I'm violating 450262 number of conditions in the EULA.Have you read it? Most parts are just RIDICULOUS and are just there for legal purposes, the only way of respecting them all is by not even opening the box, but then how would you read the EULA? :p oh, that's right: microsoft put some tiny text on the back... (As usual). We are players, not pirates.

so it's illegal? who cares. like microsoft is going to get a big hit from this. Gates has more money then god. I don't buy retail games until they hit the bargain shelves. Unless it's Doom III

Quite a few of us do. How do you expect expansions and/or fixes if we don't support the game? Thieves suck, plain and simple.

Doesn't the game require the CD to run?

I've got 2 PCs at home and would like to LAN play with a buddy, but don't feel like shelling out another $50 for a copy only he will use, on MY other computer.

try to install it over the network. I then the game will load over the network. or maybe, cause it is savedisc it will only look for a cd when it starts and not during the game.

I freely admit to copying the CD.....But that's only because I keep the original save...just in case. I use the burned CD for every day use.

That's not illegal....

Besides...It's only illegal if you get caught...lol

If MS wanted to bust people for piracy....They would be busting several million people for pirated copies of Windows Operating system...lol
