MP item respawning

Just wondering... do wrecksites regenerate their content over time? And if so, what's the interval?

yeah they respawn but you carnt do the same crash site twice if you do the wepons or cargo just burn up. Dunno what times they do it just the ships life has to be full.

That's the thing. Every time you land/dock somewhere after blasting a few wrecks, their hull integrity is restored to 100% the moment you return. But they don't seem to drop stuff if you've blasted them once before... including wrecks you haven't visited in days. I've never even seen their cargo burn up, because the friggin' ships all stay EMPTY!

there's one ship i keep blasting because it's supposed to have some cool weaps on it. i've hit it four times and it wont give up the booty! respawn my ass! i've never even taken anything from this wreck but it's still stingy.

The items respawn when the server gets restarted. If you get to the wreck b4 somebody else does, you get the booty...but if somebody get's there b4 you, then tough luck, and wait around for the next server crash. Cheers.

I think its pretty random. Ive had a few THORS HAMMERS of a wreck yet went to another wreck where ive shot the **** out of it, and had nothing. Yet a friend turned up and shot it once it had replenished its health and got some cargo. If there was some pattern to it then you would have people camping wrecks alot more than what goes on now. and also stuff respawning once the server has restarted isnt correct either as me and some friends have been the first people on the server after a restart and been the first people to a wreck and havnt retrieved anything from it.

I joined a server straight after a crash/reboot and every ship with lvl 10 weapons dropped them when I shot it. Also, I have never had these same ships drop anything except shortly after a server restart.

Same here only after a server restart/crash, still to find my favorite lvl 10, the Prometheus but someone always beats me to it

its really easy to see if the wreck has what you want...or anything at all. once you select the wreck, switch to your targeting scanner. that thingy that shows the wireframe model of your target. if you see some blue guns on the wreck, then you should be able to click on them as subtargets and it should also identify what type they are. i've found onyxs, diamondbacks, thorshammers, blue-whatever-theyre-calleds, golden-thingamajiggs, etc all by doing this. if the wire frame model doesnt have light blue wireframe guns on it (if all it has are subtargets labelled COMPONENT) then dont bother and move on to the next one.

peace!

I don't think the supply depots regenerate either. At least 24 hours later they still haven't come back.

Post Mon Mar 24, 2003 4:31 pm

What a shame, you mean people are going to actually have to work at taking mission & running cargo rather than sitting in space and waiting on the server to reboot so they can run and loot all the hidden items befor eanyone else has a chance to have a shot at em???

omg, what is the world coming to? It's a travesty.

i dont know nuttin about no lazy looting. but when it comes to the unique guns (the ones with the names in all capital letters) you can only get them once, even if you sell them. even if theres a way around that, they dont sell for much and are usually in explosive/radiated/enemy fortified locations that dont allow for ideal camping conditions. other stuff? me not know. im only helping with the guns.

but if anyone knows a depot full of red hair, drop me a line! im NEVER leaving that spot!
