Multiplayer Empty?

I've been trying all day to get my brand new freelancer to find servers, when I get on, create my account and go to the server screen (internet not lan), it just sits there saying connecting to global server and never gives me any servers

why??

no, the lancersreactor server with the forum is on his lan ;-)

Some people have had to reinstall direct x 9 a few times to get it to work. Do a dxdiag to see if the networking reports any errors. Also, make sure you dont have any firewalls active.
