if you have a music and want to add to Freelancer, you can use Windows Recorder conversion your music file to MPEG Layer-3. click *Change* on *Save As* window and choice *MPEG Layer-3* format.

.wav is only the container. MPEG-Layer 3 audio does not nessecarily have the ending .mp3

My suggestion for a utility program is audacity

Audacity has proven good for my work when I wanted to add music to Freelancer. I will have to say I am sorry that it is unfortunately not anywhere on Lancersreactor.com perhaps google it!! I am sure Audacity can open various types of sound files, the best of it after you open the sound file is it's great export feature to .wav format which can be used in Freelancer!

I had placed note on my voice tutorial modification using Audacity to convert sound files to .wav when voice modifying pilot.utf files before importing them in. Hope you will be successful!

Hello pals.

Just to lead this thread back on the right path, here's the easiest way, it takes less than a minute per file to compress and convert new music for Freelancer, and you need only Sound Recorder, which is already in your Windows installation for every language.
