another passing through things question...

i tried to make my shippass through objects such as asteroids and other ships. i succeeded with the help provided me graciously by this fine community. but i have been confronted by another problem. my weapons and external hardware arent phantomized. but if i remove all guns amd ext hardware i am able to pass through objects. how do i make it possible to pass through objects whilst i have weapons and ext hardware equiped?

I think you will need to delete each item's .sur file.

i sick of spending hours exploring every inch of every system so i used the speed mod (i increased my speed to 3000) the first thing i noticed was that it is very prompt at 3000. then i hit my first asteroid..... lar di dar,

i wanted to make it so i could pass through all asteroids without being bounced like a pinball... especially with the larger ships.

The way to do it I think (haven't tried yet)

is to go into weapon_equip.ini and look for the weapon nicknames that are equipped on your ship. Once you locate them all paste this in each block of code that contributes to the weapon function:

phantom_physics = true

I think that should work but I haven't tried and it is unconfirmed whether it will be successful. For shields, equipment that are not in weapon_equip.ini then you just go into the ini's that store the information of the equipment that is on your ship and paste the line in the block of code associating with equipment that is on your ship.

I guess strafing on the ship you are using is not fast enough to work with the crusing speed that you have got from speed mod

Or you modify the asteroid fields, so that you can pust the asteroids away. Like in the TNG-mod.

pasting phantom thingy under the weapons does work. i've been having a hard time trying to find the powercell, power capacitor, sheilds and lisence hardpoints in teks. i dont suppose anybidy knows which file the entries for those external equipment are?

Shield information is stored in st_equip.ini in the EQUIPMENT folder

Power is stored in misc_equip.ini in the same folder as above

I'll bet that if you unmount your shield, you'll be able to pass through everything. Just be sure that you have phantom_physics enabled for everything mounted on the ship - thrusters especially. Try unmounting the rest of it (ie, guns) so you don't have to worry about it.

Scanners, tractors and engines shouldn't need phantom_physics. But your ID cards probably will if they're coded to use shield hardpoints.
