Imagine what your player base would think if you banned your best pilots because you were bitter about getting beaten. Macro's CAN work for FL, but you would need 3 things to do it:

1. A first hand knowledge of FL, its design and makeup.
2. A first hand knowledge of cheating using macros/bots and how to implement them.
3. A willingness to do so.

I dont really think that there are many left that can do all of these in the community and even if they are, this means they have evaded capture for years and wouldn't be stupid enough to do what you are talking about.

I would err on the side of caution for this one and trust the players, you seem to be trying to convince us that they are definitley using these bots when knowledgable modders and server ops are telling you that they're probably not.

My two cents.

Get near them + try to bump them with that ship, they shoot you in.
If you bump in them at a greater distance,
than you would expect, just ban them.

PS. I won´t tell here why. Some will know, some will be able to guess. Rest better doesn´t know.
