I don't want to spoil the fun but isn't editing the Freelancer.exe illegal?

I would like to claim exe version 7.7 for Blade Of Stars.

Microsoft know of the mods, and know of this site. They haven't shut modders down yet. Think of it like speeding. As long as its only a tiny bit over the limit, they use their discretion and allow a little bit of leeway\flexibility over the area, and don't do anything. Take the piss and they will spank ya

actually MikeTBB was around months before TNG 1.8 was

Post Tue Jul 13, 2004 12:03 pm

Oregon Server's DP mod gets the 1.2 slot please

Post Tue Jul 13, 2004 10:39 pm

MikeTBB doesn't change the version number though does it........... they still play on 1.0, and incase your not even reading the title or understanding the thread at ALL, its about the EXE file version people use. So sorry, but yer wrong. TBB mod does NOT have the 1.8 version at all!! Read before posting!

7.7 and 7.0 are reserved for StarSeeker as I dont think I'm gonna keep the name Blade Of Stars... So if u could just post that somewhere, that would be great... If not thats ok 2, but still just so it is known... [Kinda Awkward isnt it?}

I don't like when the version #'s get changed, it plays hell with my firewall...

Post Thu Jul 22, 2004 5:04 am

Same here, worse is that mine will only allow one version access from the same location at a time. So if i use my mod, to go back to 1.0 i have to allow that access, which stops 1.28......so when i go back to that - i have to repeat the process all over again.

Unfortunately its the only really viable way to ensure that people are running the right mod.

hey cardamine TZM is 1.4. lol.

Post Tue Aug 03, 2004 8:52 am

i dont know much about this and am merely curious but may i ask how u actually change the version number and does that appear on the main menu in the bottom-right corner

Post Thu Aug 05, 2004 9:13 pm

yes, it does alter the number in the bottom right hand coner, and it also alters the compatability of server/client connections. its done using a program such has reshack to edit the version info strings in the main exe file.

Ahhh... Just thought I'd let you know.. Epsilon has been using 2.6 for some time now and version 2.7 is just around the corner.. and yes it displays as that version number. So if its not too much trouble could you reserve 2.7 to 3.? for us..

Thanks,
