Stuck on Mission 5 (escort the convoy)

I have haing problem to complete this mission....the convoy always get distroy...please help if there is any tips. thank!!

Selfless sacrifice, usually at a cost of your shields and hull, try to target and remove ships you see attacking the convoy. They are your primary responsibility.
