jump gates, single player missions and me

ok so I just got into Bretionia (i'm doing the SP). But I want to get my cash reserves up a bit. So I thought I'd try and head over to the Kusari space. But I was wondering will I be able to use the jumps gates? I know I couldn't get out of Liberty till now, but do the restrictions on jump gates still apply?

I was able to get to Kusari space without problems once I reached Bretonia. It was a lot of fun exploring. When I reached the Kyushu system and saw the battleship Nagumo standing guard, WOW! It's worthwhile, especially if you can get there with a freighter ship. You'll find lots of decent items to buy in the fringes of Bretonia, if you survive that is. Hehehe.
