Mactan Base?

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Mactan Base?

OK, I managed to find Mactan in the multiplayer game... but now I can't get in! So how do I go about convincing the nice folks at Mactan to open their doors for me so I can buy one of their Dromedary freighters?

Or is there some other place I can buy a Dromedary?

Either way... HELP!

Kill xenos, LOTS of xenos until you're neutral with the lane hackers.

Hmm... OK, I'll give it a shot. I guess I'll have to switch to a fighter craft for a while, then.

Nah, if you're a good pilot you can take them around detroit with a rhino.

Just got a Dromedary last night. I had to figure out who their enemys were and did some pirating in nearby systems and killed off a bunch of "good guys" to get them to let me land.

The Dromedary is awesome! Its as close to a small cruiser you can get in this game.... Load up with high powered turrets and some mines, and you can swat fighters like flies!

I don't quite get the fascination with the Dromedary. I keep hearing how great it is, but when I compare it to it's closest competitor, the Humpback, the Humpback wins by a good margin.
Humpback has 2200 more armor, more turrets, and a better power rating. The only place where the Dromedary has an advantage is that it can carry 25 more cargo units. You can hold all the cargo in the world, but if you can't protect it long enough to get to your destination, you're never going to make any money.

That said, I'm hoping to get a Dromedary as well. I just don't get the fascination.

Started hunting Xenos today. They aren't kidding when they suggest it'll take a long time. I went to Colorado, nuked their weapons platforms and killed about twenty fighters. I didn't see the slightest change in my faction. Maybe it's because I'm doing it with a Sabre and ten of them together couldn't dent my shield...

There are better ways; such as docking at a nearby Junker base and bribing a Lane Hacker to make you friendly with their organization. If at first the Lane Hacker isn't in the base simply undock and dock again and there'll be a whole new set of people to talk to.

Speaking of faction, what do I need just to get through the Magellan Jump Gate? The last time I was there, it wouldn't let me through. Will getting my Hacker rep up be enough, or do I have to be aligned with some other faction as well?

I don't know what it is with the Junkers, but they really have it in for me. I don't know when it started, but they just jumped from neutral to hate in an eye blink. It all self-propogated when they started attacking me and I had to kill them in self-defense. I'd love to bribe the Hackers, but I can't find any of their friends that are neutral enough to bribe.
