Buckshot Gun?!?!

Buckshot Gun?!?!

Anyone run accross the buckshot gun? I ran accross it in the single player game but didn't have the cash or the level to buy it but now I do and I'd like to try it out.

i got myself a buckshot turret. dunno if there are guns too, but i think so. twas on a BH base somewhere.....

at one stage i had about 4 buckshots and 1 buckshot turret..... can't remember for the life of me where i got them tho, if i can remember i'll let u know

Yeah, I have a buckshot gun. But dunno anymore where i found it. Think it was Omnicron Alpha.

The Bounty Hunters in Omicron Gamma has them. I always picked up a whole bunch of them when i flew "anti-bounty hunter" missions for the Corsairs.

So far everyone has heard of them or have them but cannot remember where to get them. I think that I was docked in a battleship when I located it along with guns called Winchester and such, I guess a Wild West theme. Those of you that have one, are they worth the effort? I mean I have a class 10 ship and presently hunting down the class 10 guns trying to decide which is the best. I prefer the faster rate of fire, anyone with a suggestion for this would also be appreciated.

You can buy both Buckshot gun and Buckshot turret in Shi***u System (*** = K O K)(goddamn censor thingy) on Deshima station... it's in the junction where the trade lanes go to the Kepler and Galileo jump gates.

Actually I don't know what all the fuss is about... Their not that good, especially not if you have a class 10 ship.. My loadout is 2 Wyrm type 2 class 9 guns, and 4 Nomad energy cannons class 10, Solamanca Turret class 9 turret and of course the hacked champion shield
BTW isn’t it a little ironic than when you finally get a ship with a serious power output you find weapons that need absolutely no energy? Even after the nastiest dog fights I still can't get the power gage to zero.

I as well think that the Nomad Guns are by far the best things in the game. I fly with Two Kraken Type II's, two Nomad Blasters, two Nomad Canons, and for fire rate my sabre rockts the skyblast B turret (Find it in sigma-13 on the Gas Miner Naha). I was using two Skyblast B's instead of the Krakens (8.33 fire rate vs. 4.00 fire rate) but I decided the Kraken II's were better because they did more overall dmg. as long as I could aim . I have been wondering what the best set up necessarily is and why? Please give me your guys ideas.
BTW no hacked shield here, my adv. brigadine 10 does just fine. Just evade well.
Also as to Sabre vs. Titan, if you dont get hit much why would you sacrifice a 360 degree turret. Specially when you got a Skyblast B turret, nothing beats 360 degrees of rapid fire as well as your regular 6 guns.

Well I probably shouldn't have said hacked... it's in the game you just can't acquire it without tampering a little with the game. Maybe Digital Anvil decided that it was to powerful or maybe it's only meant to be used by NPC's either way it's damn nice

I like to have my weapon in sync. Having the same fire rate I mean. The only exception is the solamanca turret that’s a 4.00 where the others are 3.03. Not much difference really.

The best setup IMHO is to jsut use the weapons with the most damage, cause you rarely hit every time with the faster repeaters.

keeper, your argument is somewhat flawed.
Say you are a constant aim and hit your target exactly 60% of the time.
Now say it takes 1000 damage to destroy ship x.
You can use gun a that shoots 1/sec but does 200dmg
or
You can use gun b that shoots 2/sec but does 125dmg

Now with 6/10 shots hitting, it will take you
1000/d * 1.66666666 / s seconds to kill the enemy
where d = dmg and s = shots/s
So for gun A it would take ~8.3 seconds
Gun B would take ~6.6 seconds

Or more with the game, a Sabre with 8000 shield points till missing 60% of the shots would take
~5.2seconds for 4guardians
~4.4seconds for 4nomad blasters
~4.35seconds for 4nomad cannons

This may not seem like much, but when there are 10 ships attacking you, that's ~9 seconds saved, which is a lot of time to lose more shields and take more damage.

Now, you may say that the lower fire rate comes with a higher accuracy rate, however, if your mouse is over the X/+ 60% of the time, it's over the X/+ 60% of the time.

Though I guess, once you reach lvl38 and have one of the 3 "ultimate" VHFs.. it doesn't really matter unless you're doing PVP.. against AI you could probably go with 3lavablade MK IIs and 3 class 6 weapons and still kill just about any AI ships.
