I've now found 48 systems through 72 Jump Holes. Are there more?

It's quite complete and easy to understand.
What's missing is the two single player systems which you cannot visit other than during the story (alaska and tohoku), plus the two unknown systems and some of the systems you visit during the single player story. The latter doesn't show up on your in-game star map either.
Yet all are included in the "Systems Visited" counter, which is why the total will show 52.

Well I my game says I've visited 52 systems on the screen with the factions. There are actually 43 systems on that map, it's missing Tohuku and Alaska which you can't visit after single player and it's missing the two unknown systems. Besides that is matches my game map of the universe so if it says I've been to 52 systems and it matches besides those 4 systems I don't know what the hell is going on.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough:
That map has 43 systems.
- plus the two unknown systems
- plus some of the systems you visit during the single player story and does not show up on the in-game map either
- alaska and tohoku, which do show up on your system map
When you met the Osiris and Orillion during the single player campaign, you are moving wildly around the map into some unknown and unmapped systems with the Order. These increase the counter, but you cannot visit them after that.
So in multiplayer, the total would be 45.
That map has 43 systems.
