How do you....

How do you stop the cruise interuptor missile?
I've tried imp. countermeasures and yet no luck, the only thing i could think of is buy a delux or imporved thruster and run like hell since there are too many enemies ready to shoot me down, and my shield is too weak against their weapons.

That doesn't work either, the missle always gets you unless you can loose it by crashing into an asteroid while in cruise speed very close to the time of impact. it is better to just drop out of cruise speed and kick some but.

1. cut the engine
2. shoot the missile
3. reengage cruise engines

if you dont have a turret simply turn the ship, your floating direction will not change unless you engage the engines.
