38 seems to be the max character level.

30 is the highest requirement I have seen to purchase equipment.
32 seems to the the highest needed to buy a ship (Titan).

how do you get to level 38? are you supposed to get it after you finish the SP game? I think I finished the SP at level 17 or 18 and I don't seem to be able to advance any higher... (when you defeat the Nomad city, that's the end of the SP game, right?)

I'm currently at level 36 in the Titan, with more then 1 million cash, 6 class 9 weapons and class 10 shield. I'm doing missions in Omega 41 at the Leon Base for $50k, $60k or $80k each. I went from level 32 to 36 in notime.

I'm currently at level 38, about 4 lvl 10 nomad weapons and another 7 spare, lvl 9 and 10 guns, and a titan, I have several million and I'm like %100 sure that level 38 is max... how did I get there? I dunno i just kept playing, and i don't know what u have to do to get there.

I'm am also lvl 38 with a titan, 4 nomads mounted, 1.7 mil in cash. I was going to earn some cash to get over 2 to see if my lvl increases..

Seems like level after finishing sp missions is based on net worth. The first time I completed the sp missions was 18th. The second time I spent a bit more time just making money to have more funding towards the end, and when finished sp missions was 22.

if you go to your information in game (where it has ure kills, game duration etc etc.), it tells you what ure next requirement is to level up. So you should know whether u have to complete a mission or whether u gotta earn some cash.

Something that confused me for a bit about the level requirements after the SP missions... during the story, on the 'go get a job' parts, is the level requirement was shown as what your net worth needs to be to get that level.. ie, say it's $100k, it'll show $120k or something.

After the SP missions, that changes, and it shows how much more net worth you need to level ($100k / $20k). I thought I was bugged, but after playing around a bit I levelled, so all is well.

As for gaining level, I shot up in levels pretty quick. I think I finished at 18th level. Then I found all the Old Imperial Navy Fighters in Sigma 13, and just tractoring in the loot got me like 5-6 levels. Then I went and bought a Humpback and did a $500+k round trip trade route a few times, got past $2 mil.

Now I'm just cruising around exploring and stuff.

When I got to New Tokyo I figured I would need money later so I made a some cargo runs and didn't continue the story line until I had a million credits. When I finished the story line I jumped from 17 to 31. Money is all it takes.
