Ship Power Rating

I've seen the ship stat "power rating" listed in a few places. I'm clueless as to what the actual numbers signify. Example: Eagle's power is 8/10

8 what?
10 what?

The second number is max weapon class the ship can mount. The first number is the recommended "optimal" weapon class to use which balances damage output vs. energy drain.

edit: The second number may also be the max. shield class as well. Not sure.

Optimum class of weapons 8, maximum class of weapons 10. If you equip only class 8 weapons on such ship your energy available will drain very slowly if at all. If you equip only class 10 weapons your energy will drain very fast, which will leave you only a few secs of continuous fire with all your weapons.

I know that the Titan has more power than the Saber but I don't know about the eagle... even if they all have 8/10.

I'm pretty sure eagle and sabre has the same power, they cost the same, one has more armor, one is more manuverable, I tried to time it with the same weaps, I think it is the same... not certain. maybe sabre has more.

With sabre and titan it doesn't really matter cause you can equip them with nomad weapons which don't require energy. So you only have two level 9 guns and one level 8/9 turret. You can duct tape mouse 2 and fly around hehe.
