Well, there are a total of 10 freeports in the game:

Freeports 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10
Freeport 7 (destroyed, but nonetheless accounted for)
Ames Research Centre (Kepler system)
Battleship Hood (Dublin system)

Maybe in the case for Freeports 3 and 8, they decided to keep the original name of the station instead? Maybe...maybe not, but both answers would be consistent within the Freelancer universe.

(Yes, I know, that's inconsistent with Freeport 4 and 5...but you can also argue the other way and say that because the Battleship Hood and the Ames Research Center are such famous "big-name" abandoned objects, the IMG and the Zoners decided to keep the original in those two cases. )

Where are the debris of Freeport 7? Are they actually visible in the multiplayer game? That would be a neat thing to see, kinda like the Hispania.
