Stuck in SP, Need some Tips (partial spoilers)

Ok, I am at level 11 an I am on the Racing mission. I just can't beat the bastard, I am flying the Cavalier. Does anyone have any tips on winning this mission?

Just manual cruise and drop CM when they shoot at u.

You're not exactly scripted to win but the game does give you some major help. But then again, i know some ppl who have tried the race over 40 times without winning!

as it has been said many times before

press shift + w to start your cruise engines IMMEDIATELY when the race starts , dont press f2 as it makes it harder to control, then immediately after you pass a way point, turn towards the next one

near the end, that guy will miss a waypoint, then you will win
