If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Hispana?!?!?!?!?

What happened to the sleeper ship "Hispana"?

It's in the intro video, but the intro is the only time the ship is mentioned in the game. Did it explode or what?

It's somewhere.

It has its own nation... notice the Corsairs in the omega systems are all named Rodriguez and Manuel?

Of the 8 ships that departed from Pluto in Sol (our solar system), only 5 actually made it to hyperspace (Liberty, Rheinland, Britonia, Kusari, and Hispania).

The Hispania made it to what is now Omnicron Alpha before it was sabotaged by someone inside. I guess quite a few people managed to awake and escape and they became the Outcasts, based on Malta in Omnicron Alpha. About 20 klicks south of Vesuvius in Omnicron Alpha is the wreckage and debris field.

The Outcasts escaped to Malta ("The Prison", they call it). But that planet was a failed Alien biology expirament and all the plant life produces toxic Cardamine gas. It causes the Outcasts to mutate and live long lives (avg 120, max 170-180 years), but have high infant mortality/low birth rate. People dependent upon Cardamine cannot live without it for very long which is why Outcasts where those breathing apparatii on their chins-- to provide them with a minimum amount of Cardamine to keep them alive.

They believe that members of the other colonies planted the saboteur to make it so that there was one less colong with which to compete for resources, so the Outcasts have decided not to waste countless lives on an all-out war/assault, but instead to make all of Sirius dependent upon Cardamine so that they can control everyone.

This is great. I've been wondering how this all came about. I don't doubt your word, but I am wondering how you came to know all this...?

Hang out at the Outcast base in Omnicron Alpha and talk to people in the bar, they'll explain the whole thing, and I saw the Hispania with my own eyes. I flew through it, as a matter of fact

Yeah thats interesting! Nice telling of the story

What were the other sleeper ships?

Post Sat Mar 08, 2003 2:41 pm

You know, one thing that always bothered me about the British sleeper ship. Why on earth was it called the Bretonnia ? Breton is in France. Maybe they meant Brittania and just spelt it wrong or something.

Post Sat Mar 08, 2003 5:38 pm

maby they didnt want to call it Brittania because it would'nt be very creative..
(though bretonia isn't that creative either)

Intresting.. this story may be true but if you go to Crete in Omicron Gamma and talk to the Corsairs they claim to derive from the Hispania. The rest of the story is the same as the Outcasts tell you tho.. almost.. that Hispania got badly damaged when fleeing together with the other sleeper ships and that it crashed in the border/edge worlds .. go to Crete and check planet info or whatever it's called .. I also talked to one Corsair that said something about 'Ventru' and that I should travel deeper in to thier systems and the horrible truth would reveal itself.. wonder what horrible truth that can be

The Corsairs and Outcasts BOTH came from the Hispania.

A large group of people on the Hispania took all the shuttles and abandoned the others to die in the wreckage, they became the Corsairs and settled in Omicron Gamma. The people who were left behind to die managed to find a way to get to the nearby planet they named Malta and they became known as the Outcasts.

As Daz says, the cardamine on Malta altered their genetic structure and they cannot survive for long without it.

They also seem to view the Nomads as being godlike alien spirits and they placed abandoned derelict fighters facing towards the Nomad jump hole in order to honor those alien spirits. They believe the cardamine has made them something greater than mortal humans, like a more advanced species (in other the words the drug-like properties of the cardamine have probably warped their minds a fair bit).

I thought it was the other way around? That the Outcasts were the ones that ditched the HIspania and settleed on Malta, and the Cosairs are the ones stuck on the Hispania and managed to limp to Crete? No?

Post Sun Mar 09, 2003 12:41 am

No, and that wouldn't make as much sense because the wreckage of the Hispania is right next to Malta and the Outcasts were stuck there for many years because they had no way of leaving (and by the time they had ships to finally explore their DNA had been screwed up by the cardamine). The Corsairs went through the Omicron jump holes to the other side of the Sirius sector.

Where is that Nomad jump hole they talked about?

I heard the story about them sending dead fighter pilots in their ships into the cloud, but I didn't know what it meant.

Is there a Nomad/black-hole/jump-hole to Unknown somerwhere in Omnicron Alpha?

Where can I get Nomad weapons?

About "Bretonia":

The word "Breton" comes from old french. Bretons are the people who lived in GB at the times of roman empire. Their language was also called "Briton".

Somewhere in the middle ages, the english kind was about to die so a letter was sent to his nearest relative who was the count [duc of Normandy which means he was the french king's vassal. The count of Normandy became the new king of england but the french royalty considered him still to be a vassal. Later, the war starded which ended France to be occupied. Breton in france is "small britain", a region which was named by the english during the occupation...
