This is how I did it:

Place your ship at the Kruger Base and start shooting at the Kruger Ships. You will find out that the police joins the Kruger ships when you are to close to the spaceport. Fend them off and follow the police lines going north for just a few klicks. The Krugers are frequently using this line so you should run into some Krugers (commonly in Falcons) very soon. Shoot some of these until your reputation with the Hessians just reaches Neutral (it's still kind of pink then).

Then fly to Vogtland Base and buy the ship. In my case I was so barely neutral with the hessians that I was shot at by them while returning to the Trade lanes after purchase. I don't know what went wrong because I went in the base being tolerated, went off being shot at. Anyways, I have my Sabre now.

BTW, I could need a lvl 10 shield. Does anybody know if the corsairs sell some (I'm fed up with these Hessians, I'm from Westphalia anyways)?

The Kruger base is a mining station in the Dresden system. I can give you the exact name an coordinates when the global server is running again.

Most odd, I went into dresden, found vogtland base (hessian base) which is in the top middle of the map (also a wreck that drops 20 diamonds) was neutral with them at the time, docked, couldnt buy the vessel

bribed a dude to hack my "rep" for $86,000 he did that still not friendly enough, paid another dude $108,000 to hack my rep with the LWB that lifted me to friendly with the hessians and I was then allowed to buy the ship, alas I am now and enemy of the rheinland state

I would like to now how you were able to buy the sabre being on such a dodgy faction

i got my sabre differently, i went to the hessian base in the stuttgart system.. although i was hostile with them, i could still land (weird?) w/o them shooting at me and inside there, i paid $150,000 to get myself friendly with the hessians, from there onwards, i just flew to vogtland base in dresden and got myself the sabre

These Hessians are really weird. Maybe there's a bug or something - I could change my Eagle for a Sabre in Vogtland though I was "pink" (barely neutral) with them. Afterwards, they shot at me.

Well, technically that's clever... wait until this stupid german Eagle pilot left a whole lotta money at our base, after that we ambush him and rob his belongings ...

There are quite strange people out there... (ever been to the xenos base? these guys are like the geeks from "hey dude where's my car".

There's a lvl 10 positron shield on planet crete, IIRC
