kinda neet for trekkies

During the beginning of the FL intro movie we are treated to the beautiful blue effect before the face becomes focused..

watch Star Trek: First Contact ... the intro credits (the very first one) appears and looks incredibly similiar at the very beginning when compared to the FL beggining

NOTE: The similiarities exist only at the beginning of the blue...

kinda interesting....anywho

I think I know what you mean...though it never occured to me before.

Actually, you could say there's another similarity. After the opening credits, it's a close-up of Picard...then it slowly pans out to see the surroundings of the Borg ship. Then the FL intro starts off pretty much like that, except it's a sleeper ship and it starts on some guy in a stasis pod.

Oh before I forget, you could also say there's a 3rd similarity...really cool effects.

sigh ... Trekkies... you see Picard & Kirk everywhere.
Why not say the earth is also featured in ST:TNG opening credits? Ridiculous...

I thought there was more similarity with the movie "Wing Commander" with the line progressing through the solar system. While the infantry battle looked like the intro in the movie "Soldier" (Or the 007 movie?)

Damn, I was going to point that out...guess I shouldn't have waited. Besides, they refer to Omicron Theta WAY before Season 7.

Whoa...a dyson sphere in Freelancer?! If it's what I think it is (a huge station built around a star)...then that's something I want to see!
