Red Crosses

Red Crosses

G'Day
How close do you have to fly to a "Red Cross" before it shows up?

If I'm zoomed in on the Nav map, is the grid indicative of the limit of my sensors, or is a tighter search pattern required?

I ask because after finding the three red crosses in the New York System, I've found only 4 more in the rest of the game (currently Level 30) - I'm assuming there are heaps... right?

Also, does the random mission system avoid grid locations that contain red crosses? I've never found one on a mission - which may be part of my problem given I mostly fly missions. Cheers.

BTW I wouldn't be too upset if someone posted a few Red Cross locations in response

Right click a cross and select Target Object then just fly to it, crosses are abandoned ships BTW, and usually drop items when you shoot them.

A lot of the "red X's" are spaced out so that when you fly to one, another one will appear on your nav map, and when you fly to *that* one, another one will show up -- if you get what I mean. For example, if you see two on your map, one directly south of the other, just keep flying north or south and you might run into another wreck. If you see nothing, try the other direction. If you still see nothing, well, that's probably all the ships there are.

If you are in need of red X-es try Omicron Alpha, sector F4, there are about a dozen sticking quite close on the nav-map.

Lots in Sigma 13 too. Around the Junker base.
