I'm a little confused and I was hoping that someone might be able to answer.

1) With SP mode do I have to follow on withthe missions I'm given or can I do what ever I want and if I do what ever I want will I still gain levels?

2) With my current game the Rebels and Hackers really don't like me and I can't use the jump gate from California <--> Magellion now is this because they don't like me or do I need to get further in the game?

Oh and sorry do I need to do the missions up to the point where I get the codes to the other Systems or can I get access to them in other ways?
