higher level then 38?

is it possible to reach a higher level than 38 because me and a buddy of mine have like the best ships in the game with all the best weapons and have 2 million plus credits...what gives is 38 the top level or is 39 just hella hard to get to? if it is, wtf, why stop at 38?

I am also at lvl 38 in MP, despite doing every 40+ difficulty mission i can find at the corsair base yet i have not gained more levels, cant see why it would stop at lvl 38 though, seems a very strange number so i believe it may just be very difficult to get higher, i will keep trying though lol

Yes it is i got 5.000.000 $, the Titan, best guns, best mine, best shield ect... nothing happens...
