This game''s faction system makes little to no sense

Well, here's how it is. I've beat the game and am fighting against the boredom of waiting for the SWG beta to move to the public phase. Freelancer seems to have a lot to offer in the time-killing department.

Now, my ship is the anubis, and im looking to upgrade. Popular choice seems to be the sabre. Only problem is that im hostile to both red hessians and outcasts. I've checked who both factions are enemies with and have been killing some of those, but lo and behold, instead of RAISING my faction with the outcast by killing their enemies, I'm LOSING faction standing with them. Am I missing something here? Aren't Molly's enemies of the Outcasts?

Well, i've heard about the xenos that are the best faction to tangle with in order to raise outcast faction, but for the life of me I cant find the hudson system. If anyone could give me directions, it'd be much appreciated.

Find a spot where you can pay to raise your outcast faction, then buy the ship.

Killing other factions helps, but its not as fast as splashing the cash

So I've heard. But that knowledge doesn't help me if I dont know where to go bribe the respective faction agents. I've checked most stations and planets I've visited, no red hessian or outcast agents.

I think I might have raised my faction on Planet Malta, but maybe not.
Failing that, check out the other systems with heavy outcast presence.

All i know is by the time you beat the game, Xeno's seem to be extinct. There is no way to raise a rep by Xeno mining anymore in SP.

Well you finish the SP game on fairly good terms with the Red Hessians. Just buy the Sabre from them at their base in Dresden. BTW, you have to be level 30 to buy a Sabre.

well first of all.. planet malta IS an outcast planet if i remember right. so no.. he can't really get faction there till he's not hostile. go to freeport 9 in omicron theta. i paid for hessian rep and zoner and that got me neutral to outcasts.
