Getting through the mine field

Is there anyway in the demo of getting through the mine field in section 21?

I haven't been home to test this but I imagine if you were to change your asteroid setting in the perfoptions file to 0 that might take care of them. On the other hand, maybe it just wouldn't render the mines all together and you would just blow up anyway. More important than this though is the fact that you can't access the jumpgates in the demo anyways, your ship isn't capable.

If you look at the jumpgate in there, then try to find the spot in the minefield, that is in direct line from the "front" of the gate. There is a hole in the mines there... Though the gate doesn't work, and there is nothing to find in there...
