Help with levels

Help!

I finished the story line, and now I'm at level 18. My current worth is arount $150,000 while it says Next Level Requirement $28,000. I'm way past that.

The problem is I now want to start trading to earn lots of money, but I can buy a Humpback for example, because you need level 20 for that.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

Your next level requirement means you have to increase your net worth by that amount to get to the next level. So once you earn that in addition to what your current net worth is then you will level up.

Ahhh, so the 28,000 just means what I still have to get to get to the next level...I thought it was the total amount you have to get.
