thing that angers me about this game

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Hehe, not much of a disadvantage from being hated, by the time you get that Eagle/Sabre/Titan and mount them lovely class 10 guns, you can fly through every good-aligned system and laughingly blow their navy/police ships to small glittering piles of debris.

The way I see it, if you can imagine it, is that in the future the governments are even more tied up in red tape than they are today. So R&D funding has been siphoned off to pay for Senator's Bloonga's new Mk3002 Luxury space cruiser (which by the way can mount class 10 weapons). The only systems that do not have the red tape infestation to a point to actually build some descent ships are the pirate worlds.

By keeping the inner worlds a lower tech level than the surrounding pirate worlds, our now famous Senator Bloonga ensures that any convoy the pirates decide to attack will fall easily to their assault. This helps our illustrious senator get his cadamine sp? at a much reduced price.

Digital Ronin:

Have you read the descriptions on the weapons and ships available at "good guy" bases? Especially something like "This is the best WhatEver cannon a civilian can purchase."

Of course it doesn't explain why the Police and especially the Navy are flying fighters with such poor equipment. Maybe they don't haul out the "big guns" even for Sirius' most wanted criminal.

The pirates probably haven't taken over because of all the cruisers and battleships in each fleet, though you only see those during the SP plotline.

edit:

Zaratomb:
8-9 BH Hammerheads can do you in if you aren't careful.

Might be interesting if Bounty Hunters had some kind of scaling interest, and you could somehow see how big is the prize on your head. Bigger prize, you'd get hunted by more and heavier BH ships, regardless of where you're flying. Those Piranhas and some Barracudas in the Liberty systems are just pathetic later on (when you've acquired a Falcon or better).

Personally, I'd prefer the level 10 ships to only be accessable by being VERY friendly with the faction selling it... no more middle-o-the-road speedtraders....

The systems and factions are really unbalanced. I hope at least a multiplayer patch fixes each houses very heavy fighter to be up to par with the eagle/sabre/titan (or they add another ship each to each house).

Didn't Juni have a unquie Liberty fighter?

I would also like a better cargo ship. Able to carry better weapons, more armor and larger cargo space.

Nope, Juni flied nothing but a meek Liberty Defender HF up until the very end.

And if it wasn't for the god flag that she always gets flipped by the gameengine, those boiling plasma cauldrons that are the final missions would turn her toy fighter into space toast in a matter of seconds.

Is it me or did he miss the point that the eagle isn't a pirate ship? Only found in one place but it's civilian

I also think there should be a couple of Secret Ships in the game also. That cannot be purchased. That would make things very interesting! Maybe there is and they have not been found yet!

You dont need to get hated by the police/navy to get very heavy fighters. Freeport 9 has an eagle(not piratebase or ship) and if you go to the bar you can bribe the corsairs to get your rep up. That means you can stroll right into corsair space and pick up a titan without getting shot at once. The only rep i lost when doing that was with the bretonian police/navy and even then it was halfway to friendly. U can get the best ships without getting shot to bits by pirates/police. I'm notsure about the sabre though...

You don't even have to be a pirate to get a Sabre.

Just go to Freistadt in Omega-7 and hunt Corsairs for the IMG , and the Hessians will love (or atleast accept) you in no time.
Likewise, it shouldn't be too hard to find a faction that the Corsairs don't hate, and do anti-Hessian missions for them.
