excellent trade route.

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

excellent trade route.

recently found what so far is the best trade route i have come across. it is a very long, 30 something jump route, but if you buy berrylium in the new london system at the kensington shipping platform in new london for 196, you can sell in pueblo station, co, for over 1k profit. made 80k profit from a full load in a rhino.

please share if you have found better

good trade routes are 2 ways

Boron from Planet Pittsburgh($120) to Sheffield Station($600).

Light Arms from Sheffield Station($280) to Planet New London($350).

Luxury Consumer Goods from Planet New London($192) to Planet Manhattan($1,200).

Water from Planet Manhattan($15) to Pittsburgh($30).

4 Jumps total. 30mins to do a whole cycle.

payoff = $506,366 a complete cycle(give or take 1k per loss of Luxury Consumer Good)

Rinse and repeat.

will have over 1 million credits in an hour with a lvl 10 or higher Freighter.

fairly safe run too really.

Great info!
However, prices and number of jumps and/or waypts would help.

The best route by far I've found involves buying Luxury Goods in Manhatten for around 120. Take that to Planet Cambridge and sell for 800 (about 150k profit in a hump back). Buy diamonds there (dont remember the exact price) and take them to Planet New London. Sell the diamonds (about 50k profit in a hump back), Buy Luxury Foods at New London, and take it back to Planet Manhatten (about 250k profit).

The whole run in a humpback will get you a bit over 400k, in pure profit.

The journey is about 60 waypoints total. It will take you about fifteen minutes to make a round trip. If you are in a humpback with decent gun turrets, nothing can touch you. If you are in a Clydesdale or Rhino, be careful about the Manchester -> New London jump gate. There are frequently lots of Corsairs waiting there.

Oh, this only works in MP. As by the time you get to the Braetonia systems in SP, Liberty hates you. =

Oh, for people who want the full system names... starting from Manhatten:

New York System -> California System -> Cortez System -> Manchester System ->
New London System -> Cambridge System -> New London System -> Manchester System -> Cortez System -> California System -> New York System.

It looks alot longer than it really is. About 15 minutes round trip. Be careful on the way back from London to Manhatten, the lux goods go bad fairly quickly. In a humpback I lose 10-15 out of 250.

Did you humpback guys have to build faction up with rheinlanders in order to go in and get the humpback?

Post Wed Feb 26, 2003 10:46 pm

no you don't have to have uber faction to buy one.

I don't do the cambridge run because I don't like to back track else that is also a nice run with one less stop.

The one I setup can be done in a rhino right from the start of the game np. Incredibly safe really. Anything jumps you, just run to the next travel lane gate or wait for yours to come back up if you can take the hits.

Post Wed Feb 26, 2003 10:51 pm

though if you wanted to you could just take the light arms from sheffield station to cambridge for an extra 70 profit(420 instead of 350). Then take diamonds up to London.

Post Wed Feb 26, 2003 10:58 pm

can I ask where exactly u bought the humpback

Post Wed Feb 26, 2003 11:03 pm

closest one I can think of to Lib is Hudson or Bering systems.

diamonds at Cambridge are $879 btw and sell for $1056 in New London = $177 each.

that is $44,250 profit in a humpback.

You could also just buy the Luxury Food in Cambridge at $160 instead of $192 in New London and just avoid New London and the diamonds all together. It's an extra jump no matter how you want to look at it.

kheldarin's run = $453,150 in a humpback though the best time I made without stopping was 24 mins.

Post Wed Feb 26, 2003 11:30 pm

you lose one luxury good per 1.5 mins in space. I do not think actual docked time counts cause I have never seen it degrade while I was parked.

Post Wed Feb 26, 2003 11:36 pm

just realized i only posted half my route info.. doh.. anyways heres what im up to.

berrylium : buy in kensington shipping yard, new london for $192 -> sell in pueblo station, CO for $1020 = $828 profit per unit

superconductors: buy in pueblo station, CO for $100 -> south hampton shipyard, new london for $600= $500 profit per unit.

round trip operation basically, the south hampton shipyard and kensington station are 1 jump apart so when you drop off your superconductors you are ready to start again with berrylium.

this route is 32 jumps 1-way and the profits are pretty big per unit.

You can buy a humpback at Tau-31 without bothering with factions. Tau (and most border worlds) don't have trade gates, so just watch the patrol routes. If I remember correctly Planet Harris is almost directly north of the Leeds gate on the map.

Yeah, cutting back to Cambridge is a pain as it adds one more system to an already large route. It works out a bit better running diamonds to London versus buying Lux Foods in Cambridge. You make a bit more profit doing the extra diamond run. And also you start out from London one system closer to Manhatten than if you were to start out in Cambridge with the lux foods.

Right now I've pretty much made as much money as I'll ever need , so I just have to figure out how to buy a Saber without dancing around with reputations.
