You have to gain a at least a certain level, I think one level up should be enough, so the number of missions is not important but the amount of money you make.

Avoid:
- using missiles
- getting badly hurted
- using charges for shield or nanobots

all of these cost you money and reduce what you ll earn from missions

You should also know that upgrading to a better ship should be a priorty at this point, but it will most likely reduce your TOTAL WORTH...the amount the game looks at to decide when you will be able to advance the story. You should try to make as much money as possible (even after she contacts you). Keep in mind that when she DOES contact you will not be able to accept ANY other missions until you go to her and decline the story mission. This is one of my only gripes with the story line missions. I was halfway across the galaxy, had just upgraded my ship (and was thus cash strapped) when she contacted me....I had to fight my way back to her without being able buy cargo or earn money from missions. They should allow you to decline the mission when she contacts you.

that can't be shot down if i'm right... so it's lots of money for a more or less sure hit ^^

In missions, the only case where you have to use torpedoes is when you have to destroy stations.

what about more than 2 Capital Ships... together with the usual other stuff, i won't miss my torps there - fire and forget ^^

What does happen if you decline the mission? Can you rejoin it later or have you just ended the plot for yourself?
