Good Old Tradelanes

TradeLane gates are armed. If your tradelane is ever disrupted by bad guys, high tail it to the closest one (they are about 10k apart from each other, so if it gets disrupted, one is always within 5 k from you) and fight the bad guys there. They make for darn good wingmen.

Another technique that works well no matter what level enemy. Run! But do it in cruise mode and straff as you do. This ensures they miss most of the time and looks really kewl to see all those different weapon type bullets, rays, streams, pulses, lasers whatever fly by yer ears as you evade.

If you get disrupted, then afterburn while straffing and then hit the cruise when you're able.

BTW, one trick that has served me well. Every time I take off I turn of the autoleveling mechanism (hit "L" once) so when I fly and turn, it's not on the same linear path. This helps confuse enemies as well.

I wish pressing "L" would give some sign of which mode it's in. Sometimes I can't tell if it's on or not, very annoying

Maybe a patch, or is it in gold already?
