Just went thru Magellan in the SP mission....my bad.

So the route thru Magellan is not open in MP? I don't quite understand why, but maybe I will later.

Yup, New York -> Magellan jumpgate, access denied, even in the gold version, and you can't jump Magellan -> New York ether. :-)

NY -> Magellan gate is a left over from the experiments at Bedford station and Ithaca, when you and Juni use it Juni locks the gate so the Liberty Navy cant follow you.

The gate actually never gets locked, you can go back through it once you've completed that SP mission. Makes a nifty cardamine run between Mactan and Manhattan.
