Mining..? asteroids and ice-fields etc...

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Mining..? asteroids and ice-fields etc...

I was just wondering if there is any difference to where you go shooting up asteroids etc...
Is there a 'best place' for this, a place to get more or better goodies amongst the fields?? I am Not including wrecks and stuff here... have already come across most of em to where im up to...
Any info is good info.... Thanks...

There are different goods in nearly every field, and some are hard to get. I really like niobium fields (there's one in Kusai,i think, and in one of the Omegas, but i haven't been able to play for a month now). The field I was using last was the diamond field in Omega 11(?). Every other shot and a got some diamond! From there i just head to leeds. the route is a little long, but free and easy to do (except for those bloody Corsairs!!!)

A lot of asteroid fields are duds, don't forget. Toggle the Mining filter on your Nav Map and it'll highlight any locations in the system that you've surveyed that you can mine.

Bit of a further spoiler here...

Base your operation on Kyushu. From planet Kyushu, take the jump hole to Tau-23, from there the jump hole to Tau-37. Just park right by the jump hole and pelt Niobium rocks as they float by. That field has a very high yield rate (most rocks will give up Niobium), and the route is a fast one. Just beware the Outcast fighters that thick the area.

Hmmm... Somewhere around that area is where i went. I'm not sure, i was so intent on discovery and finding wrecks that I never remembered to remember.... I think it was in the system with a mining ship of some sort.... that spot helped me through three missions (i think). I was such a n00b then. Oh well, happy hunting from South Carolina ya'll!
