The meaning of freelancer

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

The meaning of freelancer

sorry if this is in the wrong forum but i need to no the answer cos i dnt feel im getting the most out of freelancer. As most of us no, you are liked generally by the liberty guys (at the point im at n e way) but i was keen to become a part of the lane hackers or rogues. However, i can't find a way to sort of communicate with them and ask them to like me and i havent got a clue where their bases are. Does anyone know tips for changing 'teams' and becoming part of a new group.

This will go to the spoiler forum, and I'll email you to let you know. You have to find mutual enemies of the faction you wish to become loyal to. Example: to get in good with the Corsairs, shoot a ton of Red Hessions. Check your reputation status til it turns white (or green if you've really kicked butt). Go to one of their bases, and bribe a bartender to get into the "green". Use the "info" button when docked and highlight a faction that you wish to become friendly with, it'll show you who their enemies are. Remember, when you become friends with one faction, you'll be despised by others.... muahahahhahahahaha...... (((cough)))

If you have credits to burn, you can get a bribe straight away. There's a list of bribes on www.gamefaqs.com, but Freeports are always a good place to start. You can get a load of different bribes there. Also, you can sometimes pick up bribes on bases allied to that faction, eg I've seen an Outcast bribe on Buffalo Base, owned by the Rogues, their allies.

You can use the info button in space but last time i did that i hit a planet. The player info button on the top right hand corner of the screen shows you your level, worth, kills and relationships with other factions.

Nope, as random missions in freelancer is generally booring either you arrest somebody of their enemies

or you kill somebody, or you tractor in something, or destroy it, no escorts, no exploration, a few base destructions now and then, but thats it

and its not bases you can find on the nav map or dock to, theyre just created for the mission!
