Corsair ship names?

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Corsair ship names?

Names of corsair ships are weird. First ones, Legionnaire and Centurion are logical but Titan?WTF?What does that got to do with Romans. It should be like "Praetorian"or something like that.

Praetorian isn't as widely circulated a word as Titan. You wouldn't be feared for flying a Praetorian

(you wouldn't be feared for flying a Titan either, but that's another matter entirely)

of course people fear you when you fly a titan correctly .

but yes, titan seems alot more powerful than praetorian.

It is the person that needs to be feared not the ship flown.

I can run rounds around a Titan without ever getting hit, but be killed by a good piloted Drake/Hawk or Dragon/Falcon

Agreed, Maranno.

As for the 'Titan', the Romans adopted most of the Greek Deities and mythology. Despite some changes of names, it mostly stayed the same, therefore it is relating to the sons and daughters of Mother Earth's union with Sky, the Titans.

What Roman mythology has got to do with Roman soldiers, I don't know, but still...

Could be worse, we could be flying Hastati, Principes or Triarii.

Yeah, the idea is that Mother Earth united with Sky producing the Titans. The final couple produced were Cronus and Rhea. Cronus helped Mother Earth in taking revenge on his father Uranus (Sky), after castrating him, Cronus took his place and threw his brothers the Hundred Handed ones and the Cyclopses into Tartarus. Cronus married his sister Rhea and they went on to produce the Gods, Demeter, Hestia, Hera, Hades/Pluto, Poseidon and Zeus. Cronus devoured them at birth to prevent a prophecy by his parents that he would lose power to one of his offspring. However, after a long time of this, Rhea realised she was pregnant again (with Zeus), she fled to Crete to protect him. She left the baby in the care of the Oceanid Metis, giving Cronus a stone wrapped in clothes which he thought was the child.
When Zeus grew up he forced Cronus to swallow a poison and he regurgitated the children, the children joined forces, liberated the Cyclopses and the Hundred-Handed ones, and declared war on Cronus and his brothers (although some of the Titans did not support Cronus and assisted the Gods).
After the Battle (which the gods won), Cronus and the Titans were punished, many of them (including Cronus) were thrown into Tartarus with the Hundred-Handed ones to guard them.

Anyway, a bit off topic, but I thought some people might be interested.

Gladiator wouldnt be to bad but if they called it praetorian there would have been people writing things like "praetorian, what the hell is a praetorian. what does that have to do with anything."
