how can i buy a titan?

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

kill a bunch of Outcasts or Hessians (If you want to stay on the good side of the law) Or attack civilian targets that are enemys of the corsair (bad side of the law.) All you have to do is get them from red to white, then you can land and bribe them to like you. Then all you have to be is Class 30 or higher. (and be rich )

Definitely kill many Hessians, the Corsairs hate them. Go to Stutgart or Omega 11, and you'll find them all over the place. Everyone hates the Hessians, so you'll be good with the Corsairs after killing a few dozen.

I'm actually allied with the Hessians, and still friendly toward all major corps and Houses. Interesting, huh?

The titan is a Level 32 ship actually.

Kill Bretonian Police/Armed Forces to improve rep with Corsairs. Teh Titan is sold on Leon Base. Omega-41 and Planet Crete, Omicron Gmama.

strafe! the three VHF's are equal in strength

Although everyone hates Hessians, be careful for some hidden alliance. The junkers are the most annoying one because they sympathise with a lot of pirates.

Actually, the easiest way to get friendly with pirates is to kill Bounty Hunters Xenos also work nicely with some, especially Liberty factions.

geeez, just go near most trade bases and destroy the storage depots then you get a bad rep with police, good rep with rogues and so forth and a little bit of money for your hassels

"IPOL-Omikron19 your request to dock is granted, proceed to dock four-hundred and ninety two..."

I got the Titan easily by going to Omega 41 and taking missions against Hessians from Freeport 5. Not only did that work fairly quickly, but with the money the missions gave me, I avoided the pitfall many people have of being so obsessed with getting the Titan that they forget to take along enough money for it.

Yeah, it, the shield, the weapons, the nanobots, the batteries...

Flying a Titan - or any VHF - with class-5 guns is less than fun. Especially on a server with AI bot/batt mods.

Personally, I don't really like the looks of TItan, It' just kinda bulky. I wasn't all that excited with it when I bought it either. Oh well, I'm more of a light fast fighter kinda person. (Too bad all ships in Freelancer go the same speed.)

Same thing here i'm allied with the Hessians and Neutral with everybody else (exept Xeno's).

B.t.w. Why only give him directions to get a Titan? when you can get a Sabre much easier, since it's available at the Hessian Vogtland base in Dresden. it's a much shorter trip and somehow i always get friendly with the Hessians somehow.

Of all VHF's the Sabre is the closest one available, not to forget it turns WAY better than the Titan, while having a bit less hull, but it's agility will compensate for that easier.

SO

Titan
Eagle
Sabre

Click the links to go to the ship specs, where it also tells where the ships are sold.

Don't start discussing the ships themselves. That's a click waiting to happen.

Actually I believe it was discovered that the Titan and Sabre have identical mass and turn rates. But we don't need any of that debate, as much as a lot of us would like.
