Trading Strategies

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Trading Strategies

I am relatively new to FreeLancer, but one of the things that really attracted me to the game was the ability to trade and the economic advantages of trading. (All having to do with a DOS based exhibit at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia about the Triangle Trading routes of the 1600 - 1700's)

I am wondering about the competitive advantages of the different systems/cultures...is there a particular type of product that results in a high trade value between two cultures?

Also, within the single-player story it seems close to impossible to trade back into Liberty Space once you -- following the good path -- are forced to flee...or is it possible and I just screwing up royally?

Any thoughts about trading strategies that reap big money advantages?

Cheers

I guess it could be a spoiler, but I am also looking for general strategies that people utilize in developing a trade strategy.

I see that folks have amassed amazing amounts of cash -- $500K and above -- and am wondering how they do that...purchase a freighter and go a-mining? Move high value goods? Work in tandem in multiplayer mode?

Is it generally easier to amass cash when you attack freighters? Trade high value items? Mining?

Thanks

The best and most fameous way of getting money is by trading along one specific trade route with a Dromedary BW Freighter
Link to trade routes.
That link will show you some of the best. The one I am talking about is the 2nd one in the topic post.
On that route, it is easy and quick to amass over a million credits, and then to go on a hunt for one of the best ships in the game.
Happy Freelancing!
And, Welcome to TLR!

What do you do when you see an endangered animal that eats only endangered plants?
What do they use to ship styrofoam?

When you get asked by NPCs to drop yor cargo, use cruise speed. Weh you get to full spd, use engine kill anf face them, they wont follow you

I know there aren't dramatic spoilers posted yet here, but I see them coming. We have a spoiler forum for this, and you can post all you want there about any spoilers regarding missions, tactics, finding hidden objects, whatever. They're allowed there, but not here as someone new to the game or new to a mod may not want to see these prior to playing, and can just skip over the spoiler forum. So, I will move this the the spoiler forum....whoosh.......
Note: nobody's "in trouble" here nor am I p/o'd at anyone, just like to keep topics in their assigned forums, that's all.
