How do you change your Faction affiliation?

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

There have been LOADS of discussions about this in the past. It IS possible to change it, but no-one (as far as I'm aware) has a sure fire method, I have known people to have 'xeno' even though they have a red rep with them and other such oddities. The entire thing is thought to be random.

It is considered by some people (including me) that this is an unfinished feature of the game, not completed because of time limitations, coding limitations or simply because it was realised that it wasn't a good idea, and they haven't removed all the coding for it.

Hope this helps.

There is one way to change it but I didn't test it much as the faction you change to will still be affected but any rep change so can still be lost

So its LSF I changed to:

In a new character take and quit 5 Navy missions, quit them when launching. But don't shoot anyone to change the default reputation or it won't work.

On the 5th launch you will get a message saying:

Lost affiliation : Navy
New affiliation : Liberty Security Force

I believe if you take and quit missions in the same way from a new character you can get others as well but just tested once.

You could ask the admin of your server nicely . To have a tag next to your name, you need a full reputation with that particular faction. For example, if I wanted to have Outcasts as a tag, I would need to do stuff to make my reputation fully green (all bars are green). What "stuff" you need to do, i don't know, but i've heard it's pretty hard. I don't see how rejecting missions from liberty navy would get you LSF though, because liberty navy and LSF are allied.

strafe! the three VHF's are equal in strength
