Seeker missiles.

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Seeker missiles.

Ive just heard that non-seeker missiles also seek. So how good are cannonballs at follwing ships? Could it follw a fighter thru a tight turn, like a firestalker?

The Stalker series of missiles aims to follow the opponent and usually hits them from behind. The Javelin series just attempts to hit them. In my experience, the Javelin series has always been miles better, because they're cheaper, do about double the damage, and if you fire them at the right time, they're almost guaranteed to hit, so the Stalker's extra homing ability is wasted.

The only difference between seeker and non-seeker are these:
seeker missiles travel at 99 m/s and non seekers travel at 90 m/s
seeker missiles do half the damage non-seekers do (of the same class)
seeker missiles are more expensive than non-seeker varients
seeker missiles are 2 times more manuverable than non-seekers
seeker missiles fire twice as fast as non-seekers
to purchase seeker missile ammo, your reputation must be friendly with the faction of the base. This is not the case with non-seekers.
the best seeker missile is the firestalker that does ~2400 damage.

strafe!

just go for the heavy hitters. i usually just use torps but since they are costly, early in the game at least, i tend to use hard hitting missiles like catapults. just plaster them onto the enemy. either head on or from behind-above.

they do track nicely, all you gotta do is get a bit close and drop it at the right time.

The ammo and launchers for seekers are more expensive, but I tend to favor them (Doesn't really matter if you have close to 10,000,000 credits does it?)
I still hate missiles!

Cannonballs are lovely for there 1 hit hull kill on anythign regardless of hitpts on the ship

I can imagine head on duels with ingame voice chat (i wish)

--Hey guess what!
-What
--CATCH! 8Launchs cball*
-AHH! Noob! *catches cball and blows up in a fiery ball..visible..from space.

The Cannonball isn't a one hit kill on the hull. It does just under 5000 damage, which most higher level ships can take. The one hit thinking generally comes because once you take their shields down, you tend to deal some hull damage with your cannons as well. Either that or you fire two missiles at once.

If you charge somebody, cannonballs can kill in one hit. most missiles do more damage than stated.

strafe! the three VHF's are equal in strength

Cannonballls are one hit kills if you take out their shields first

Depends how they hit if you afterburn straight away from a missle the damge is reduced when it hits. A Cannon ball won't even kill a Stillento if it hits wrong

Not really, I've been killed by skilled players who thrust and shot their missiles before turning away to avoid a CD and a painful blast.
