Yes, I found him somewhat of an oddity as well. I was convinced he was going to show up later in the campaign as something significant, but not so. Best guess is he's somehow tied in to the Dom'Kavash (does anyone actually know how it's properly spelled?) in some way.

The artifiact that he has with him i magine is the source of his mind reading powers. It looks like a Dom Kavash artifiact. If you look it does glow when he puts his hand over it.

Maybe they were frauds that just overheard von claussen when he was there and decided to spook out Trent while he was there for a couple of extra credits using a tinkertoy they found in the bottom of some cereal box. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that humans are just like guinea pigs to the Dom Kavash, and were just testing the Sirius Colonists' combat abilities by pitting the Nomads against them. Maybe Blix and his assistant are both Dom Kavash(disguised as humans) who want to "cheat" a little by giving the humans a helping hand. Or something.

I noticed the glowing artifact too Bret. Something doesn't add up for me though. Like why, if Blix and Donner are in posession of another active artifact (and I'm assuming that it's active), no one is actively pursuing them (then again maybe people are and we just don't hear about it at all). Where did they get it? If they found it on Pygar why didn't they also find the map/hypergate activation device as well? If Kendra got there first then why didn't she find the funky crystals? Or, if they found it at whatever the place was that the Rheinlanders orginally became infected then why weren't they infected as well? This is the sort of stuff that can keep me up all night. It's pathetic, I know.

See if i can answer these:

1)Donner says that they are hired by people that require their help. Von Claussen being the only one mentioned. 1 possible explanation is Von Claussen uses his Order ties to offer protection in return of their services.

2)Pygar is a planet with no doubt many places so the artifact, if it was found on pygar, could have been some distance from the tinkertoy hyper gate key. If i remember, there is a link on a site, a story by DA or something, can't quite remember, but there were alien artifacts found on Manhatten and there are many ruins in the sirius system. Another obvious site is Sprague

3)The above would probably answer this.
