Rheinland fleet

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Rheinland fleet

I got a big problem. Im unable to continue the game because a huge rheinland fleet is blocking be the way. It is in the sp campain, when we have to take a jump gate and the rheinlanders are blocking the gate with a battleship, approximately 6 cruisers, gunboat anf fighters. When I try to beat then, the battleship hit me hard with its turrets and i lose my shield in one it...So if anyone knows how I could beat them, an answer would be apprecieted. and by the way, I got the rebalance 3.40 mod.

--------------thx---------------

Mission 5, at Sprague, right? If so, then does juke, jink, dive, and weave mean anything to you? Just run and move around if they shoot at you.

Sprague only had a gunboat or two and a few fighters. He might mean the destroy the rheinland fleet mission. I don't recall 6 cruisers though...Guess he could be referring to the Sigma battle too...Geez, how many battleships are there?

You're playing FLRB 3.40 - so I suppose you did not upgrade your ship and equipment. With a defender (or a similar ship) it's very difficult to survive that situation after Sprague because the mod puts more BS in front of the jumphole. If you can't get through take a savegame before mission 5, do some jobs and upgrade. And then - kick their a** !!
If you need more help have a look at the RB 3.40-forum here

He Probably means the mission were you have to escape from Leeds with those Rheinlanders on your tail..
We can't give you any info just buy missiles on the station you land before the battle and fire every missile you've got at the battleship first (It worked with me)
then take out the gunboats wich are weakened.
Then the Fighters........

Keep flying in circels around the battleship that should avoid contact with his turrets

rhineland battle cruiser have a weak spot on their underside (near docking part)
sit there and blast away and drop mines. shouldnt be too hard too find.

*** SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS ***

I assume you're talking about teh mission right after you leave the Tau's. Tobias has left you and you, Juni, Sinclair and Quintaine cross a methane field. You end up taking on a fleet of ships which decloak right infront of you. Lots of Cruisers, gunboats, fighters and a battleship.

Tip 1: Let others worry about teh Battleship and the cruisers. You're probably not powerful enough to take them on. Worry about teh fighters and the gunboats and STAY AWAY FROM THE BATTLESHIP!!!

Tip 2: Get the biggest shield you can get your hands on.

any other tips depend on what ship you are flying and your loadout., basically, there's no chance you can take on that Battleship. If you absolutely want to, keep moving. use Strafe (A and D) to evade teh turrets and fire missiles at it. But the most important thing is to keep moving, use you thrusters and don't fly preditable, change your direction often.

Lastly, don't worry about Juni, Sinclair or Quintaine (especially Quintain), they will survive

Good luck and keep trying

If your playing rebalance, drop everything and by Cruise Missiles. The gigantic blast radius on the Longbow or Crossbow will do a fair amount of damage to capital ships, but more importantly, a well placed shot will destroy all the turrets on a capital ship (two or three shots may be required), leaving them totally vulnerable. Remember to concentrate your fire in one spot, makes em go down quicker...

STAY AWAY FROM THE BATTLESHIP!!!

no way im going to do that! I simply thin out the fighters and takeout battleship turrets on lower part. Then release every torp i have in banks and make sure 1 battleship went back to scrap yard the cruisers and gunboats i leave them to my 'wingmates'.

argh i'm never gonna get paid, Goodbye a million credits

I agree with Ajim. Hit the battleship with as much as you can muster. Once the battleship is gone, take the cruisers in long, weaving passes. Gunboats are the easiest - just get behind them where they can't actually shoot you.

I did that mission in a dromedary so it shouldn't be very hard. As Nick said, if the battleship is too strong, stay away from it and take on the fighters. Or you could circle around the battle while the NPC's take care of the rhienlanders .

Thats right, Nickless, thats where i am. Im flying with sinclair and quintaine to escape and there is a fleet of cloaked rheinlanders that appears from nowhere.
By the way, my ship is a barracuda and I dont have any mines,(I dont like them...), but I have the best hf shield available for the moment.
So Im gonna try again to beat those freaks, but im getting bored, I mean that I already tried like 20 times and the goddamn battleship shoot me some extremely powerful energy ball, and its difficut to deal with that.
So thx guys, I hope it will work this time.

try getting better shield of abt 4000 to 5000 capacity. it should get you through the mission. and also try turning your engine off and just float around. it can get missiles and turrets off ur butt very quickly.

ittan out!!!!!!

Rheinland battleships are the easiest type to eliminate. Look around the ship's nose for an enclosed area midway up the bow. Fly in the side, and you will be protected from no only the battleship's guns, but very nearly everything else as well. Then you can chew away at the battleship all you want. You can even use this area as cover after the battleship has been destroyed, since the wreckage remains for a while after the ship has broken up.

If you really can't get the rest of the ships, hide in that little tunnel until your allies have mopped up everything else. Most of the time, they're invinceable anyway.

ok, my advice: fly staraight at the battleship!!

that might sound odd, but: if you fly quicly enough, the turrets cant re-acquire, and it gives you a chance to fly into a major blindspot on the rheinland battlecruisers: the bridge!
on the front of the ship is an assembly where there is one control deck, a gap, and then another contol deck. Fly into that gap, and start shooting! the battleship's guns cant hit you, and if the fighters shoot at you, theyll hit the bc, damaging it ever further, aiding YOU!!

hope that helps
