Where in Sirius do you get Sunslayers?

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

I use torps to take out bunched enemy formations at range. time it right from about 2.2K+ on burners, the torp should hit at about 1K+ before you or they are in gun range, you'll take out at least 2 enemies and badly damage several others at least, making your gun engagement a lot easier and quicker. Normally I burn and engine kill through what's left of the formation, blasting with guns to break em up a bit more and chuck a couple of mines out as I got past, then turn, burn and engine kill again. a few passes of that and its done with usually very little damage to me, and stuff like mines and nbts/sbs I can pick up from the salvage from the battle. Never fly without torps. golden rule from Wing Commander.

Well sunslayers are the pinnacle of weps but they only work with skilled pilots or a pilot that wants to decimate a freighter that is stil otherwise they are just useluss.
Also sunslayers are can be used when you just fly past and enmy and the momenent he comes to your side FIRE the torpedo is like a space cleaner except that some can avoid it.
Only liberty rogues can be hit using this tactic

If you think Sunslayer Torps are Pricy to keep stocked with, try having twin Firestalker Misile Launchers, Firestalker Misiles cost the same as Sunslayer torps & the Launchers cost nearly twice as much....

Firestalker Misiles cost the same as Sunslayer torps

Actually, they don't. They cost a good deal more, at almost $8,000 each. On the other hand, Cannonball missiles cost over $1000 less, around $6,000, I think. That should leave nobody in any doubt as to which missile launcher is better
And please, no "but the Firestalker homes better" counters because the truth is that if you have a good sense of when to fire, your hit rate with Cannonballs can easily be 100%

Darkstone is right, the Firestalker is just too much money for the low damage it does even if it does hit - the seeker cone although generally wider than the Cannonball is still easy to foil, you can't rely on them hitting at all. IF you are going to use missiles, the cannonball is the best choice. Firing from miles away isnt going to hit diddly squat, you need to get in close with guns, take the shields down and then launch a cannonball up the enemy's ass at close range or while closing head-on very very fast. Homing is largely irrelevant then, at such close range the enemy won't be able to cm your missile and your seeker cone should hold the enemy in lock.

personally i think missiles are almost a complete waste of time and I almost exclusively use guns except for my torp/mine technique as above works for me

The best time to launch a cannonball is when you're going head to head. The great thing about the homing system in FL is that it doesn't try to follow the enemy as such, it just tries to make contact. If you launch your Cannonball when you're facing each other, even if they turn to the side to evade, it'll just end up hitting them in the side instead of the front. Although I do love watching inexperienced Titan players try to outmanoeuvre missiles and fail, crashing into an asteroid or something because they haven't the foggiest idea exactly what they're doing

"I do love watching inexperienced Titan players try to outmanoeuvre missiles and fail,"

pah, in a clunky Titan you've a job outmaneouvring planets!

But other than a stationary target, they are useless.

Tell that to the rouge i annihilated with a Sunslayer in 1 shot

A actually find it useful to use the torps to destroy those annoying weapons platforms, that way i can focus on blasting teh C**p out of the ships instead of wasting my power reserves shooting at an armoured rock.

as for firestalker vs cannonball, ive found that the cannonball is a bit too bulky for my liking, and the smoke fogs up my cockpit
I have 2 firestalkers mounted on the wings of my eagle, good finishing move after youve blaster thier shields clean off

I never use missiles personally. Never found them much use, too expensive to keep in stock.

But maybe I'll give them a go again, I haven't used them since I tried them out in the demo, so it'll be interesting to see how a Canonball goes down, perhaps I'll swap out one of my Tizonas just to experiment.

No, don't do that, swap out one of your other weapons. The general rule of missiles is that you bring down their shields first, then hit them.

No, because if I don't like them:
1. I can wipe out the enemy with my lvl 10 weaps.
2. I can just buy another Tizona if I lose it, if I lose the CLASSIFIEDs or nomads its more tedious work replacing them.

And even 1 Tizona takes down an enemy's shield in a few seconds.

You can't get the Sunslayer launcher there, that's only sold in one place, but the ammo is sold everywhere
