loads of scifi references

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

loads of scifi references

I've spotted loads of scifi references in Freelancer. I mean, the Nomads are just like Goa'ulds from Stargate, the eyes and evrything. Also, in one episode of Startrek:TNG aliens tried to invade Starfleet by taking over some high-ranking officers. Sounds familiar huh? Also, i think only SG fans will understand this, but in that cutscene where Trent, Juni, Quintaine, Sinclair and Tobias talk(the one with two Rheinland dudes), there is the chevron 8 from Stargate ("A" letter with a circle above it) painted in the walls

What's with sci-fi and parasitic snake-like aliens anway? I HATE creepy crawly aliens

I would usually expect a scifi game to have references in it to other items. You see, Scifi shows and movies are so ingrained in our culture that these references even happen in movies. ie In Indians Jones and the Temple of Doom, the name of the club were the movie starts in is the Club Obi Wan. It is neat, however to talk about them though.

Yeah, and it's kinda funny to spot them.

Like in Ice Age, the kid, as he is being carried through the ice cave, does a vulcan hand sign to the UFO.

Yeah, the Order's also from Harry Potter 5, but I think that one's just coincidence. By the way, I'm also a Stargate fan. I'm like a Daniel Jackson, minus all the lady friends. --- VH16

Nice to see another SG fan. Do you too think Nomads and Goa'ulds are bit similar or is it just me.

I'm a stargate fan too! I like Tilke.

I think that they are very simular. The simbiotic relationship between a humanoid host and a "parasite" has been explored by not only Stargate, but Star Trek as well. I believe that the race was called the trill.

Yes they are trills. Difference is that trills are friendly towards Federation(Atleast Jadzia Dax is) but Goa'ulds (Stargate) and Nomads(Freelancer) are hostile. And stargate is best TV series on Earth!

Stargate Sg-1 is ok. I watch it occassionally, its not bad, but in my opinion the film which started it all is way better.

I really didn't like the film, I prefer SG-1. I think Anderson makes a better O'Neil than whoever played him in the movie. Although I liked it enough to justify me renting the serries... --- VH16
