Corsairs

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Corsairs

First off, I'm new. ^_^

I've been playing Freelancer for some time now, yet I still don't know what factions are ennemies and buddies with the Corsairs. I really have a bad reputation with them and I want to change this, and I absolutely refuse to pay some guy 15 K to make me buddies with the Corsairs. Hopefully someone can help me on this. ^_^ Thanks in advance.

If you want to save your rep with houses my suggestion is to go to rheinland and kill Red Hessians, as they are sworn enemies to the corsairs

Um, Killing bounty hunters should do the trick or for more specific, go to the reputation list while playing and then click on the corsairs. On the right side it should show you allies and enemies.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Kill Bounty Hunters anytime you get the chance; all criminals hate 'em. Also, try killing navy, policce, and military, as well as the freight companies (i.e. Republican, Synth Foods, Universal, ALG). Kill enough of those factions, and your rep with many criminals should become nuetral & then friendly

By doing this, I have been able to ally myself with almost all of the criminals and pirates at one time; I can fly into Omega 5, and all ships - except low-down Bounty Hunters - are green

Who ever you want to make friends with, even if they are hostile to you, hang around them till they are attack and then attack thier enemies, Your points with them go up quickly.

Kill bounty hunters although this could be hard if you cant yet get in to the omicron theta >>>>> Omega 41 corner of the sector. Instead kill hesians in Omgea 5 which will make your corasir rep ok. Or, kill then in stuttgart at the omega 11 jump hole, you can just pick them off one after the other. Then your rep will go up with both Rheinland and corsairs

Just click on your "card" to see you reputation with all factions. Then click on the Corsairs and see who their allies are. Also, notice their enemies and fight against them.

Problem with fighting against the Bounty Hunters is that all sorts of "good guy" factions also turn against you. There's another Corsair enemy that is better to fight against...

This is all well and good, but don't the Corsairs have no allies? So if you start going after navy, military, criminals, shipping just to be friends with them, then you better know you're gonna be on your own outside Corsair space

Of all the systems, in all the galaxy, you had to fly into mine.

Thanks a lot guys. Yeah, I tried killing some Bounty Hunters but that didn't turn out too good, heh. I'll try the Hessianpart, I'm ennemies with them too, so it's no big loss.

I don't want to get all green with the Corsairs, just a bit more friendly. ^_^ I'm trying to get buddies or neutral with everyone but that proves kind of hard, especially when I do a mission. Missions brings your reputation down like mad..

Make sure you're good with Synth and IMG, kill Xenos (lots, like hundreds or thousands), bribe the Zoners, then attack criminal factions (rogues, outcasts, hackers, etc.) just a little bit, and you should be neutral or allied with all.

The Corsairs have 1 allied faction, the Hogosha.

blow the red hessians, outcasts, bounty hunters, nomads, anything! it gets you friendly with em!

or even just hang outside Ronneburg base in Omega-5 in your Titan, there you can blow the Hessians to your heart's content, then cruise off to Cadiz, refuel, rearm, and regroup, cool!

was that a spoiler?

Just take a look at Empathy.ini and pick a faction that works best for you to kill. Maybe Mollys?

Yep. The Hogosha flog their artifacts for them. But the Hogosha aren't in many systems, plus they fly around in tugboats! Best to go after the "bad guy" factions that the Corsairs hate. That way the "good guy" groups stay at least neutral.
