Taking out Nomad Base shield in Dyson sphere

Hello , all ! I'm somewhat new (to Freelancer)and I've had difficulty taking
down the Nomad Shield protecting the power generators at the base inside their
Dyson sphere. One walkthough at www.GameFaqs.com said to get some plasma
weapons at New Berlin before you pick up Von Claussen. Should I also get some
EMP type missiles(Sweepers) ? Any helpful tips or hints are welcome!
Also , in the mission where you fly to the Liberty Rogues' Buffalo Base and
meet up with Walker , how long do you have to wait? I'm wondering if I'm
having some sort of a glitch here , as I've gone all around the base and I can't
find Walker's ships anywhere (using the contact list under ' Ships ' .
Again , Thanks for any help!

For that Dyson Sphere mission, fly into the purple light that comes from the generator than start firing everything you have: torps, guns, everything. It also helps to have bought the Reaper guns. For the Buffalo mission, did you dock at Buffalo yet? Because you're supposed to. If not, then I don't know what's wrong.

Dark Helmet: Gimme that, you petty excuse of an officer!
Now hear this: LUDICROUS SPEED!!!
Col. Sanders: Sir, hadn't you better buckle up?
Dark Helmet: Eh, buckle this! Ludicrous speed...GO!!!

I though you met up with walker after docking and after destroying the navy satillite. As far as the Dyson sphere try doing thruster/ Engine kill passes... you can launch the torpedos from beyond their maximum range and generally avoid being pounded to a pulp by the nomads... I beleive there are one or two places where you can park your ship to avoid being hit by the turrets, (just like you can do with the rheinland battleships). As long as you keep moving and keep your hand on the torpedo trigger you should make out just fine. I had no trouble even without rheinland weapons. The order ones worked just fine (if memory serves i had some leftoever outcast dragoons as well). Just make sure you save some torpedos for the inside :-)

I missed this post as I thought my brother's net connection had gone out.
What happened was the Buffalo Base would not allow me to dock
I checked my rep with the Liberty Rogues and it was friendly.
I have since uninstalled FL as the new FLMM is out and I wanted to use it.
By the way , after reinstalling Freelancer , when using the SDK v1.3 , do you
install it before or after you install FLMM 10? If you install FLMM 10 first , I
assume you don't activate any mods until after the SDK v1.3 is installed.
Thanks for helping a newbie!

Sadly, I forgot to stock up on more torpedos before that mission and i was already out of them by the time I had to kill the generator, and since missiles and beams weren't doing crap for damage I finally opted for a quick dive-bombing run with my Ripper mines. After two passes the generator was toast.

A three-step guide to killing any immobile & destructable object.
1. Target Object
2. Fire Sunslayer Torpedo
3. Wait...there is no 3, it's already dead .

Yep, Torps are most effective, if you've got 'em. Otherwise, just fire everything you do have at them, while maintaining a very evasive course. Eventually, they'll give in. If you give in before they do, however, you obviously weren't evasive enough

@Bounty_Hunter_Jackson

Are you trying to have the longest name here? You're messing up the format of the web site.

Why not BH_Jackson?

I wasn't aware there were rules regarding name lengths :S Sorry if there are.
Isn't there a way to have it use another line, like the name of the guy above your post?

EDIT = Is that better? Most forums don't allow spaces in the names, so I used _'s... but I just noticed people had spaces in their names and so changed my user name.

OK then -- I'll leave it as it is . I never like being in a moderator's bad books, for some reason, lol
Anyway, you folks can revive the subject now, stop me spamming any further
