DIAMONDBACKS

Sorry if this has been posted before, but:
in the story missions, when u go into new berlin from sigma-19 or sigma-13(i forgot), and ur at the 80 years war battlefield near yanagi dept, look in ur solars list there should be a wreck. shoot it with a weak gun, and u get two "DIAMONDBACKS".

The Diamondbacks and other codenamed guns are some of the strongest guns in the game, but they use up a lot of power. If you sell them, though, they can bring in a lot of cash.

you can get them only once in sp... so be carefully what codename you gonna sell and what codename you hold with ya...

you can get in mp the same codename from the same ship after the server is restarted or after a matter off time (i don't know how long this take)

in mp as well you can loot a wreck only once though after a reboot another person can then loot that wreck

Codnames sell for a nice 37K (I think) but you should only keep the Diamondbacks and Cerebrus and any others that you may be emotionally attached to. The Diamondbacks and Cerebrus are the strongest codenames in the game, rivalled only by the Nomad Weapons.

I never use CODENAMES. All my level 10 weapons are Nomad cannons. If they had level 9 CODENAMES, then I would use them on my other weapon slots on my Titan but alas,they don't.

I'm making record time!

@ viper there are other guns to rival the best two codenames namely the kraken 2 for one which has other advantages as well
the dback has only 1 saving virtue in my mind .... the pretty light effect

im emotionally attached to all of them. just save em... u have unlimited weapon storage... i think. i have like 14 codename guns (2 each) and i kill GMG and pick up EVERYTHING and i always get all of their guns... never ran out of rooms for gun storage.

Trent: Sure, as long as I'm not shot at, knocked out, held at gunpoint, electrocuted, skewered alive by giant alien shapeshifters, have to dive out windows, or fight off spindly nomad incubi.

You do have unlimited gun storage (or something really high like 65536), but some codenames are better spent as money than as guns.

Alls y'alls are crazy. It is never about a single gun; it's about a loadout of weapons. WILDFIRE has the best hull damage/energy drain ratio (other than Nomads which have 0 energy drain): 1075 hull damage for 220 energy (per shot). TDC has the best shield/second ratio: 4968 shield damage per second at a drain of 388/sec (12.804% effeciency). But if you can't handle class 9 weapons, Adv. Debilitator(class 8),a Rapier(class 7), or Borroco(class 5) will do. There's no decent Class 6 shield-killer.
... there are so many stats you can compute with the weapons, it depends what you're looking for. The nomad weapons will have an effeciency (damage/drain) of 100% because they suck no juice. The Vulture 2 (class 5) is 2nd in hull damage effeciency: 6.192 (161 damage at 26 energy [3 shots/sec). Maximum hull damage belongs to Diamondbacks and Cerebrus (which have identical stats).
Heck - you can even break it down into damage against types of shields... you just have to match your loadout with your style of fighting. If you're a sucky shot and keep firing, you don't want a Cerebrus because it will drain your battery at 2 shots/second. Sunblast A (class 6) gives you 8 shots/second with 79 hull damage/shot at 19 energy drain. That's a possible 658.07 hulldamage/second draining 158.27 energy... and 8 chances a second to hit. The Nomad Blaster gives you 4 shots/second with a max possible 2540 hull damage/second - but zero energy drain...

...and I'm gonna kill, kill, kill, until the killing's done!
