I''ve lost Juni!

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

I''ve lost Juni!

I'm having some major problems getting Mission 8 (Shinagawa) to start. I played this mission once before but returned to a prior save point to improve my ship. Having now spent a LOT of time doing that, I've gone back to Shinagawa (as indicated repeatedly by the mission waypoints) but there's no sign at all of Juni.

Previously as soon as I clicked on the Bar icon, an animation sequence triggered in which Juni introduced the mission. Now when I click the icon, Trent just walks into the bar ready to talk to the people inside. I've tried again and again to get the storyline animation to trigger and it just won't do it.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to get the game going again?

Many thanks,

Oenone

I'd hit the "N" key. It shows your objectives. Might help.

(Pressing 'N'): Thanks for the tip; I tried this, but all it did was repeat the fact that I should meet Juni in the Shinagawa bar. But she's still not there.

I think the game has lost the plot. If I go back to an earlier save she's there, but then I don't have any of the weapons, money or equipment I spent the whole of this evening obtaining.

Any other suggestions?

Have you tried leaving the station and then docking again? maybe that'll work.

RILMS, I have indeed tried that. I also tried taking on another private mission and then returning to Shinagawa, leaving the system and returning and of course the mandatory reboot, none of them had any effect.

Looks like the bounty hunters finally got her.

if you reinstall all shoud be well and good, if not, then in Freelancer Mod Manager, click Options -> Restore Backups, this will restore the originals, i think!

ENJOY!

Ah well, never mind, I just went back through my saves until I got back to one that would allow that mission to trigger. Something must have got corrupted in the save file or something. I'm past that mission now and have a reasonable selection of weapons back so I'm happy.

Bom, glad you like the nickname. Syrinx is busy at the moment, hopefully she'll be back later. And they were indeed most enjoyable books -- particularly The Reality Dysfunction (though I fear we may be straying rather off-topic with this conversation now!)

Thanks to everyone that offered suggestions,

Oenone
