Texas Incident, a compilation of rumors

A compilation of rumors form all over Liberty and its bordering independent worlds.

First, to start with, Liberty did not invent the jumpgates, they simply found ancient alien artifacts on Manhattan that contained the information on how to build them.
The Texas incident was caused by a disaster in the jumpgate machinery. Texas was chosen by the Liberty government to be a center of research. Huge numbers of jobs were created, and Texas’s economy relied on the government money. The disaster that destroyed most of Texas originated at a station that was in the right half of Texas. (I think that the station was called Dallas or something) The disaster occurred when they tried to open a jumpgate path to a Kusari system. However, the path crossed the Dark Matter clouds of Kepler, and because of that, the jumpgate machinery exploded, leaving behind several radioactive debris fields, and the Pequna and Grande Negra. Most of Texas was destroyed. Now, before the Dallas incident, there were no jumpholes in Texas, they were all created in the explosion. After the disaster, the government pulled out of Texas, and those who hadn’t died were left without jobs. Henceforth, the crime rate skyrocketed, and with the new jumpholes, it was easy for the criminals to get around. Today, the only options for most people in Texas are to either work in the foundries and fertilizer plants, or turn to crime.

Hope this clarifies some things for people.

How ironic that the "worst poster" in the original poster's eyes is the first to answer his thread.

Anyway .......

What is it about the Texas Incident that makes people fell so warm and fuzzy inside because they think they know whats going on ?. I've personally never even heard of the (*drumroll please*) "Texas Incident" in the game , probably because I never go near Texas during my errands in my Sabre.

what are you talking about? I've never commented on anyone on these forums, and how many posts do you have to have to become a 2nd lt. I've only made 5 or 6 posts. Unless someone else has been using my account.
