ways to make a fast buck?
ok so it's probably been asked loads already but i only got the game a few days ago...
I know all about the ways to make money, but now that i've reached the Bretonian empire, one of the lucrative trade routes seem to have been made impossible..... namely hull plates or alloys from the smelter in the leeds system, to the shipyards in the new york system and toxic waste on the return route... ..
( since i'm not welcome in the new york system anymore.. )
my question is this, do you get back on friendy terms with any of the liberty groups further into the game??
also, a good way of making money early into the game ( before getting chased out of liberty space.. ) is to fly around the jump holes looking for xenos freighters and destroy them ( assuming you have a decent-ish ship.. ) then high tail it into the jump hole after grabing the loot... ( sometimes drugs, sometimes gold... ) and since theses guys hate you no matter what, who cares if your rep with them get's worse... nothing wrong with stealing from pirates...
on a side note...
ever fancied flying at cruise speeds whilst being able to shoot... just fire up your cruise engines on manual, then hit the "kill engines" key and you carry on coasting at 300... also usefull for when there are cruise disrupter missiles inbound...
same goes for outrunning the enemy using the thrusters.. when they are getting low.. just kill the engines and coast at 199 while they recharge...
