If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

which one is better ?
...
Cannon does more damage overall but by very little. Choose whichever one suits your weapons. If you weapons have a 2.00 or 4.00 refire rate, use the blaster. If they have a 3.03 refire refire rate, use the cannon. If they have a 5.88 or 8.33 refire rate, you should be lined up and shot for putting them on a VHF. Unless they're class 9. Then you should just get better ones.

i look mostly at projectile speed...
i like to have a few flak-cannons (mine r mostly high firerated) and missiles as most powerfulliest weaps (i know, i know, the most doesn't like them )
and what he asked, i would hev 2 cannons and 2 blasters

Don't use missiles, mines, torps, or any other blast device for hunting Nomads!
Not only are Nomads too nimble for these, you will damage and possibly destroy
the guns, which are the goal, eh?
Myself I use Blasters, RR4 is good for me, but YMMV

I've tested out refire rate and actual damage done in realtime fights and looks like using high fire rates isn't better. It seems after testing with 2 differening setup ships that not every Shot counts as a hit if you just keep constantly firing against either using slower fire rates or bursts of fire.
So a simple test to show it, find a lone Rouge Hound. With Blasters and Skyblasts fire constantly at it a note the number of shots taken to kill it. Then find another and fire 2 - 3 volleys of fire only and you should kill it quicker. Further tested with Hessians and Corsairs to rule out shields affecting the results.
So before I always used Blasters / 1 Skyblast and a TDC Now Cannons / Wyrm & TDC. Still won't use Coded as they use far too much energy
But that doesnt factor in lag when fast fire can help but my server doesnt lag that much to make it an issue.
So now bored with FL and moving elsewhere.
